EMCORE Connects Cables: Faster, longer, lighter and thinner

20 Gbps at distances up to 100 meters
Low, 10-15 bit error rate and low 0.5 nanosecond latency for increased reliability
Bit error rate (BER) is a cause of performance and reliability problems in high-performance clusters. Many copper cables are only specified for a BER of 10-12, a BER that is a thousand times worse than an EMCORE Connects Cable. A cluster with 1000 cables at a BER of 10-12 would have almost one and three-quarters million bit errors per day from the cables alone. With EMCORE Connects Cables, the BER is dramatically reduced to less than 1750 per day.
Scales don't lie: 84 percent less weight and 83 percent less volume than copper cables¹

Ultra low-weight EMCORE Connects Cables mean less stress on floors, racks, connectors, and pins that can lead to duster failures. The small cross section of EMCORE Connects Cables can result in better airflow and fewer duster hot spots.
Smaller bend radius, shorter connectors, easier installation

The short connector length and the flexible bend radius of EMCORE Connects Cables is 40 percent less¹ than that of the 24 AWG copper cables, making EMCORE Connects Cables easier to install and maintain without straining server connectors or interfering with neighboring cables. The shorter connectors also make it possible to close cabinet doors and achieve better airflow in applicable situations.
