Hybrid Photonic Integrated Modules
EMCORE, through its acquisition of Phasebridge Inc., has a full design, development and production process capability for advanced hybrid photonic integrated module development. The technology is based on patented and patent-pending micro-optic lens mounting technology with sub-micron precision that enables the integration of multiple active and passive photonic devices into compact, rugged hermetic modules. The technique permits the utilization of essentially any active or passive photonic device to realize miniature optical subassemblies, including laser diodes, SLEDs, SOAs, thin-film filters, optical isolators and circulators, IOCs including lithium-niobate and semiconductor modulators, VOAs, photodiodes, and SM and PM optical fibers.
